Yovette shares her art with the world!

A Very Unexpected Surprise!

My sister and I went to the Jackson County Home Show outside of Medford Oregon a few weeks ago because we saw that “The Grand View” was going to have a booth there. Now for those of you that don’t know, The Grand View is a PBS Art Show starring Stefan Baumann. He is a wonderful artist and I faithfully followed his shows on TV when I was in Alaska.

When we got to the Home Show, his booth was the first one inside the door. It was a delight to see all the paintings on display and be able to meet some of the artists. The only one missing was the person I so wanted to meet. Stefan Baumann! He was unable to attend his own show.

Jumping ahead… last week I got a surprise phone call that I had won a free class from the Home Show! Oh my gosh, I was so excited! I emailed my sister right away with the good news, and low and behold, she had won a free class too!

So, we got to attend the class this past Thursday, and got to meet this famous artist. We had a great time, met some wonderful people, learned some new things, and got to spend the afternoon painting with Stefan. What could be more fun?

In that very short afternoon, we only got to do an under-painting. But it was a great experience and I am excited to do more with this painting. Unfortunately, Stefan won’t be there to guide me, but I will go on without him. Maybe I will post an after picture later on down the road when it is completed.

    Wow !!!!!! Lucky you!!!……………..Al

  2. Both my sister and I were both really lucky! We just got the original photo so we can finish the painting. Thought I might do that while hunting! Thanks for following me! Yo

  3. Learning the underpainting technique is important. Too many of us skip the step and the finished effort is of poorer quality because of it.

    • Just now learning about all this under-painting and how important it is. Not easy to learn a new way, but it will pay off in the long run. Sure having fun with it! Thank you for the comment.
